Mike, a wonderful essay. I enjoyed remembering all the influential psychologist of the time. As a young psychologist at the time I was very excited about their teachings. I practiced biofeedback and perfected my deep breathing practices that I continue to do until today. It has helped me get through some stormy times. Thank you for such a wonderful essay and sharing with us this wonderful formative period of your early life. Best, Francisco.
Whenever someone asks, "Beatles or The Stones?" I answer, "The Doors". Love this, Mike. We never know who we'll meet, what they will say, the impact it will have, or how the thread will connect...but that makes the finding-out part fun. xo
I appreciated the serendipitous encounter with Laura Huxley at the party. The Doors of Perception, by Aldous Huxley is a seminal book from that time period. I'll have to read some of Grof's work.
Fascinating!

Grof is so wide-reaching in his paradigm. I'll be posting my chapters about him soon, which should make a nice introduction for you. Thanks, Russell.
A wonderful reflection.
Thank you, Richard.
