We’re all in quest for the perfect playlist(s) to enhance the quality of our consciousness, would, and daily life. Hope you find a few gems on my list that aren’t yet on all your list.
(Each link under the title is a link to a YouTube video of the song.)
As audacious and subjective, I’m always learning from friends and from lists on the internet. (Actually, there are 90 songs, and I’ll add 10 more in the weeks and months to come.)
These 100 songs will be my new playlist while I’m writing. Thought I’d share it with you in case you find a few gems.
In addition to listening multiple times to each songs, I have had three criteria:
It’s a song for everybody. Not for one age group or one race or or one polical view or one musical culture or only for people in intimate relationships. Eliminate love songs eliminates two out of three songs. But it frees us up to focus on the human experience in a way this is common to all of us.
I listen to it regularly and its quality never wears. (This eliminates great songs that are tragic — Mozart’s Requium, Barber’s Adagio — but that I listen to less often.)
I intend to listen to it the rest of my life, including on my daily playlist.
Thank you,
Mike
