11 Great Songs for Our Elder Years
Each song on the list is a link to a YouTube video of the song.
I had planned to include sacred songs here, but I’ll separate those out into my next post.
These 11 songs are songs I think we can all enjoy from age 60 to the end of our life. (I can’t be too sure, cuz I’m only 58.)
Six of these are country songs. Country musicians seem to understand and respect their elders more than musicians in other genres.
Three others can be classified in a spiritual genre. And one is a soft-rock song. (I couldn’t find any other rock songs.)
The first one, by Faith Hill, to me is the best song I’ve heard celebrating a person’s legacy, although it could have other meanings to other people. The Bocelli song is a father-son song but fits here too.
“There You’ll Be” by Diane Warren, sung by Faith Hill
“When You Are Old” by Gretchen Peters, performed by Martina McBride
“Grandma and Me” by R.J. Moody
“Grandma’s Love” by Mark Yamanaka
“Together” by Brett Kissel, Karen Kosowski, and Tim Nichols, performed by Brett Kissel
“100 Years” by Five for Fighting
“Fall on Me” by Andrea Bocelli and Matteo Bocelli
